The generosity of our community is one of our greatest gifts.

Time and time again, our friends, neighbours, local businesses and colleagues rally together to support each other during trying times. The pandemic was no different. This week marks two years, since the COVID-19 pandemic was declared and we, as a city, province and country went into lockdown.

Celebrating the successful conclusion of the Cancer Care, Close to Home campaign only two months prior to the onset of the pandemic, the Laboratory at NBRHC took the spotlight in our community, as our Health Centre worked to respond to the evolving needs of our community.

Thanks to community generosity, our Laboratory was able to purchase state-of-the-art equipment to help diagnose COVID-19 very early in the pandemic. We are happy to say that all COVID testing for Nipissing District is now conducted at the NBRHC Laboratory.

​

For most illnesses and conditions, diagnosis is needed in order to proceed with treatment, the dedicated team in the Laboratory are the champions in the background, critical to moving patient care forward at our hospital.
